I know not everybody buys the surface for looks, but to me it is one of its strong suits and wish the surface team would've had more attention to detail before deciding to cram the pen in the keyboard at any cost. It looks like a third party pen that doesn't fit the overall design of the surface line. The Slim Pen 2 would sometimes hurt my fingers after prolonged used too which was unexpected. It made the overall design of the SP8 worse with a random bulge on the side of the keyboard, an awkwardly fitting keyboard that sticks off from the screen, and an eye sore when you leave the keyboard open and there is a random massive gaping hole between the screen and keyboard.

It's like the team that designed it focused on stuffing the pen on the keyboard rather than improving the design of the pen or SP8. The increased real estate of screen was great though and much needed.Īs a student I use OneNote the most and I could not get over how bad the Slim Pen 2 is.

The 120Hz screen was kind of gimmicky since the W11 doesn't seem to take a good advantage of it and the OS wasn't smooth on a browser or OneNote. I've had the SP4 and SP7 and the screen on the SP8 was an awesome upgrade. I had the SP8 for about 2 months before I returned it.
